First, to preface this, I love CP and the mods do a really great, and I'm betting very thankless job. Having said that, over this off season there has been an influx of new posters flaming and posting less than quality posts that is frustrating many members who have been here for years. I consider myself a newer member still, and I've been signed up for over 3 years and have lurked for about 2 years before that.

My question is, with the influx of new members, has CP grown enough to necessitate a few more moderators? This isn't me trying to apply or anything, there are more qualified guys, I'm sure. And this is in no way trying to imply that you guys don't do a fantastic job- you do. I appreciate it 100% and without CP, the Internet is dead to me. It just feels maybe like CP is lacking an accountability lately.

Maybe even bring the skill back? I know it was the bain of some people's existence, but people need to realize that outright flaming and elitism is just as bad as newbies not understanding the culture and what's post worthy here.

Maybe even go a little nazi on some people who flame, like throw blatant flamers in the sin bin and let them cool off for a few days. Many CP vets (again, i don't consider myself one, although I am as guilty as any) seem to be slipping too these days, and they know the rules as well as anyone. It's a slippery slope, and once someone gets flamed, it's only natural to want to forge a rebuttal or defend themselves. Problem is, it's almost never constructive, and usually detracts from discussion in a big way.

Is there a counter to the "thank" feature, like an "un-thank" or some such thing? Or a "fail" or "disagree" feature?

Again, I want to reiterate, I love this place, I love the mod team, and hell, I love a ton of the people on here. I wouldn't post something like this if I didn't, and if I wasn't genuinely concerned that we might be on the verge of losing something really good here. It's not like we are on the dawn of some CP apocalypse or anything, but I feel that we could nip it in the bud so to speak if we act now.

Also, if this is inappropriate please delete this thread, it's definitely not my intention.
