For those that haven't watched the Hungary race yet, don't read this.. spoilers.
So, interesting race at the Hungaroring. Freak accident during qualifying caused Felipe Massa to crash, and retire from the race all together. A spring from Rubens Barichello's Brawn fell off, and was in the air when Felipe Massa drove into. It cracked his helmet and fractured his skull. Early reports from the hospital are good news, and hopefully Massa will make a full and quick recovery.
On to the race. Hamilton, last years driver champion captures his first win of the season, and placing 4th in qualifying. It looks as though the Mercedes-McLaren team may have a good car once again. Kimi Raikkonen placed second, and Webber following his win in Germany, came in a respectable 3rd.
Fernando Alonso won the poll, and was leading for the first few laps, but during a scheduled pit, a problem occurred, and his right front wheel was not changed properly. Leading to it coming completely off during his next lap. Alonso was able to make back to the pits, but was forced to retire. The loose wheel did not cause any problems to the other races.
Because of this though, the F1 stewards have decided to penalize the Renault team, and force them miss the next race (European GP) in Valencia Spain.
And another interesting note, Toro Rosso called up 19 year old Jaime Alguersuari. He is now the youngest ever to start an F1 race. All in all, he completed the entire race, and actually came ahead of his teammate Sebastien Buemi. Pretty good I think for a kid who has only spent 4 days in the car. He actually was posting lap times that where close to current driver champion Jenson Button.
Driver standings after Hungary:
1st: Button 70
2nd: Webber 51.5
3rd: Vettel 47
Next race, 4 weeks away in Valencia for the European Grand Prix.
