All that may be true, but it actually changes nothing. It's not a crime to "get in someone's face" and hurt their feelings. We may disagree with what Gates said and how he acted--that's fine. But the important piece of information here is that
it is not a crime.
It's not a crime to be a jerk. If it were, there are a lot of days that I would be in jail.
