Ceiling fans can help with that as well as turning on the furnace motor to recirculate the cool air from downstairs. It's a cheaper alternative to the nights you can't open your windows.

I have a ceiling fan, and a smaller fan and I have the furnace on recirc. I love sleeping at about 17° but once it gets about 22° I have a really hard time falling asleep.
I dont have AC but I am seriously considering central air.
