Wrong. Insulin converts blood glucose that is not instantly absorbed into the cells of the body into glycogen which is how the body temporarily stores glucose so it can be "at the ready" to be used should blood glucose levels drop. Normally, glycogen reserves last around 4 hours before converting itself back to glucose for cell absorbtion. Glycogen stored in the liver can supply the body with glucose for 8-12 hours after the initial digestion of the food from which it was derived.
