Dude it is played quite a bit in the movie. Secondary to Ron and Hermoine perhaps but very prominent.
And Antithesis: you are right about the Empire Strikes Back thing. I said it as soon as the movie ended that this was intended to be the downer movie that sets up a triumphant 7th flick (although split in two).
