While I can definitely see your point if you're trying to convert your entire library from m4a to mp3, but that's a fairly unique situation. If we're just talking about buying an album and getting it onto a different device, then personally I don't think it's terribly hard to do. My coworker brought some god forsaken mp3 player to me on Thursday to put an album on it and it wasn't much of a process.
