New lease on life for methadone clinic?

A controversial methadone clinic could stay in Calgary after all. Ward 11 Alderman Brian Pincott says he will ask council to create a new policy to deal with agencies like the Second Chance Recovery clinic.
Hundreds of people packed into a community hall in Braeside to protest the clinic when they learned it had opened in a strip mall.
Pincott says involving public consultation earlier can help remove some of the fears of residents.
The new policy would allow methadone clinics to set up in light industrial areas.
The clinic is still operating in Braeside on a day-to-day basis.
Pincott's policy goes before council on July 27 but even if it is approved it could be months before it is implemented.
