I was in HS from 82-87, so that music brings back a lot of memories. Then when I got to university suddenly there were people who played stuff that I had never heard before. London, Ont radio was pretty pop oriented and and I thought OMD ("Secret") was edgy. Then I encounter things like The Smiths, Jesus and Mary Chain, Sinead O'Conner (before - Nothing Compares 2 U) and so on.
But I still have mixed CDs in my truck with Alice Cooper, Dexys Midnight Runners, Naked Eyes, Flock of Seagulls, John Parr, Go-Gos, Duran Duran, etc
