I need a new TV, but I don't know much about them.

Mine zonked out last night, and I need a new one.

I want something in the 40+ inch range (that's what she said HAHAHA), and it's screen has to be able to sustain severe beatings from my Wii and PS3 in terms of usage.

I am prepared to spend between $1000-$1500. Obviously, it has to be a flat screen and I'm not sure where to start (brands, quality, pixelage, etc.).

Any suggestions as to what TV's are the best type to get for my purposes and that price range?
