I don't get the PJ and Nirvana comparisons, the only real tie I see is Seattle. Nirvana had a way harder edge with way more punk and metal styled sounds mixed in. PJ was always closer tied to folk type sounds than it was to the harder stuff. I guess there's some cross over in the middle, but to me it's 2 bands coming from really different places.

Cobain's death is definitely a big part of the legacy, but it almost seemed inevitable from the start. It was a band built to end just as quickly as it exploded.
