Eh? What? You are just finding out of Cash's drug problems?

That's what I absolutely ABHORRED about "Walk the Line". It followed the typical Hollywood plot with the typical Hollywood ending where he was off the drugs, married to the woman he always loved, on top of the world.... but it ignores the last 20 to 30 years of his life where he fell back into his old habits. I mean, there is a reason he chose to cover this song:


The thing about Cash was that he wasn't picky about his drugs. He abused them all. Alcohol, heroin, amphetamines, pain killers... he did 'em all. And not just from that video, but from interviews that he did, he regretted how much his destructive ways had hurt all the people around him.

I don't condemn him as a "weirdo", but rather pity him that he was unable to beat his demons.
