I believe your average resting metabolic rate allows you to consume about 11 X Your weight to basically "Break Even". This all depends on how active you are as well. This "Break Even" point could be a higher amount of calories the more active you are (As in your working out and burning 1000 calories).
1 Pound is 3500 Calories
The effects wouldn't last long, but if you kept up your same diet for a week and burned an excess of 1000 calories per day, you could possibly lose a good 2 pounds per week, but it would tail off. You can't sustain that.
I get hungry after workouts and runs as well, but the key is to split your meals up into 4-6 a day. I try splitting mine up into 5. Don't just eat 2 big meals and a small meal.
