This is written by someone who also dislikes Clinton--who should, in that sense, be a kind of fellow-traveler for Hitchens. But he points to Hitchens' rhetorical AND ethical excesses in this book. Simply put, it's a tissue of overstatements and innuendo supported by mock-outraged purple prose and fake high-mindedness. I'm actually on Hitchens' side when it comes to most ideological issues-- but the guy is clearly a ######bag, and I do find him a little hard to take.
As for his irrational hatred for Clinton (he--I kid you not--accuses Clinton of having a small penis in the book) is it possible it dates back to the year or two that they were both at Oxford? I kind of wonder if Clinton slept with his girlfriend.

That's very fair. I don't really respect Hitchens as a scholar, he isn't one, he's just fun to read and he sometimes comes out with a rare insight.
That said, great review and it has changed my opinion of the book somewhat.
