The thing of it was that it wasn't an issue most of the time prior to 2001. If I tell you something happened on 11/25/99 there is no way that date could be screwed up. So for about 60% of the time it was fine; and the other 40% there was only two numbers that could be transposed.

And don't get me started on food products that use "MA" for the month on their expiry dates.
