Do you have any idea how extraordinarily ridiculous that statement is?

Where's the dumb decision in dating someone younger than you? Sure it's probably not a great decision if you're looking for long term stability, but to imply that it increases your chances of being murdered is absurd. There are hundreds of thousands of relationships with age gaps of 15+ years, and shockingly many of them have to do with rich guys and younger women. You're trying to tell me that people in those relationships are more predisposed to being murdered? That's quite the claim.

As for your moral high ground, I'm not sure if you have some sort of 'sanctity of marriage' stance or what, but I don't really see how an affair turns you into someone whose death is any less sad. That's assuming this was even an affair within an intact marriage, there's every possibility that the marriage relationship was all but over. It doesn't exactly seem like there was much in the way of sneaking around going on here.
sancitity of marriage is snobbish moral high ground. OK conversation with you done, I get it, and I get where your coming from.

And yea, I'm not saying you always get murdered you said that, just that you are asking for problems if you are rich in your mid thirties and date a broke 20 year old. That may not sound nice, but it's true. There is a good chance, not 100% but a good chance the 20 yr old sees a slot machine that always pays out (this one did with free cars apparently) and when things go wrong the 20 year can see their future slipping from them ... that's a problem. If you have a family and start dating some 20 year old from D&B's ... with what he has to lose, your thinking with the wrong head.

I don't see the death as any less sad, that's again, just something you have manufactured. I'd say maybe a little less respect for him, but just as sad. Still one widow and 4 kids who lost a parent.

Anyway you don't see a problem with the decision, good for you. But I can see your biased because he's an athlete, 40 reports that this is a girlfriend and you still think people are leaping to conclusions and that she might still be a family friend.
