She quit because she wants to be President.
She has nothing to gain from remaining Governor of a state that's:
A. In sudden financial trouble due to low oil prices
B. Far, far away from Iowa, New Hampshire, and every other primary state
C. In her mind, thought of as backwards and a hick state, when really it was just her we thought of that way
As far as the newspapers she reads thing, she really thought it was a trick question trying to discover if they've discovered the printing press in Alaska. Also, I suspect the honest answer would have been hilarious, but she should have been smart enough to recite a few obvious things. (Time, Newsweek, NYT, Washington Post, Wasilla Daily or whatever)
I bet she runs in 2012, and I give her a greater than 50% chance of getting the Republican nomination. Which gives the Republicans a less than 1% chance of winning the general election. Oh Darn.
