I always go back to this, but I wonder how some of these "busts" would have done in other organizations.

Vernon Davis has been classified a bust, but the 49er coaches have been happy with him because of his strength they have turned him into a blocking TE. The issue is you don't draft blocking TEs that high in the first round. The team says they want to get him ore involved in the passing game, but they said that last year, too. Singletary got in Davis' grill last year, and it seems to have paid off so far this year, with Davis being a model team player.

And this draft, teh 49ers drafted TE Bear Pascoe, whom they said they want to be a blocking TE and let them groom Davis into more of the catching TE. But in the OTAs so far Pascoe has been a revelation as far as pass catching goes, snagging almost everything throne in his area. I'm wondering if there isn't a bit of possom going on, with Pascoe and Davis each blocking or catching so other teams can't guess. But that will probably be dictated by how well the O-Line can give the QB time.
