At the risk of sounding like some complete sycophant/ass-kisser/brown-noser, I have the following anecdote to report:
I used to be 'merge before the end/shake head at waits till the end guy' ... then I read what seemed to be some well-informed arguments against that on here and decided to throw caution to the wind. Like George Costanza, I decided to do the opposite, and I'm not going back.
A further admission: I am also now 'lets guy who waited until the end in' guy. Take that 'stop-and-wait' brigade!
