So gas is more expensive inside the GTA than outside the GTA?

Anyone else not shocked that this? Personally I'd think a lot of land in the GTA (that you can't build density on) is going to be bloody expensive. You have to make up the cost of the land, taxes, etc at the pump and only at the pump. You can't put a gas station underneath an apartment building. You need proper ventilation, safe guards against fire, etc.

That is the cost of business, if you want to get your gas in downtown Toronto be ready to pay a premium for the luxury of doing so. I'd expect it to be less there than on out on the highway leading out of Southern Ontario.

I live in Northern Nova Scotia. Guess what, gas is more expensive in Sydney (away from the refinery in Halifax) than it is in Halifax. It starts cheaper by where the gasoline is produced and goes up from there. Transportation costs come into play. I'm not crying about how it's cheaper by the refinery than it being trucked all the way up here.

Gimme a break. The market will dictate price. Yes it's taxed. That's not new. Never was. The problem is the demand for gasoline, and what we're willing to pay for it.

If you don't want to pay for the gas in the GTA, take the bus, streetcar, or subway. I don't have those options where I live. So stop your bellyaching about filling your car, when there are alternatives available.
