Very few large tours and even less small tours hit up Perth. Australia gets in on tours as part of the Japan leg for the most part, and going to Perth costs them a ton in terms of moving equipment etc. You can do the East Coast relatively easily, it's not much different than doing any other tour once you get there and has 3-4 large centers to play. Perth is isolated, a tour that hits Perth is making a one off stop, and that's not really common. Outside of the festivals you pointed out you don't see very many tours to Australia period, it's just way too expensive to justify it for most bands.

As for the Calgary Vfest vs. other Vfest's, people need to realize that the name slapped on it has nothing to do with who's playing. Vfest isn't a tour, it's a series of one off shows.
