plus a bunch of other local bands that were awesome, and it made our Vfest at Fort Calgary look like a chumpfest. STP was ok, I've seen the hip about 400 times, and The Flaming Lips, while a little nostalgic, were average. I thought that we would be able to get better talent than what came, based on who they were getting to other cities.

Yeah, Canada seems to get the shaft with Virgin fest.

Put it this way, last year Stone temple Pilots was our big headliner (along with Tragically hip the second day), now lok at the Baltimore V-fest from 08.....

Main Stage, Saturday, Aug. 9: Bloc Party, Cat Power, Chuck Berry and The Silver Beats, Citizen Cope, Duffy, Foo Fighters, Gogol Bordello, Jack Johnson, KT Tunstall, Lupe Fiasco, The Offspring, Paramore, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Swell Season and Wilco.

Main Stage, Sunday, Aug. 10: Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, The Black Keys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bob Dylan, The Go! Team, Iggy & The Stooges, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nine Inch Nails, She & Him, Shudder to Think, Stone Temple Pilots and Taking Back Sunday.

Stone temple pilots was just a blip in their line-up. They got to watch bands like

Foo Fighters
Jack Johnson
Offspring
bob dylan
duffy
brmb
Kanye West
Lil Wayne
NIN
Stone Temple Pilots
Chuck Berry
Lupe Fiasco

Anyone could find multiple bands they wanted to see. Where as in Calgary, most people would only pay for a weekend pass if they REALLY like one of the headliners.
