What if Buckner had fielded that grounder? The Sox win the WS, does the curse live on, or do the Sox go on to win more?
If he does field the grounder and get the out the Sox obviously win the series, but thats the only one. I don't know if you call it the "curse" but I still think they play second fiddle to the Yankees for much of the late 90's early 00's. It's only because of baseballs expanded playoffs that they've even been in the playoffs since 1990 and mostly from like 99 on. Even with all their appearances the only year they were even close with the Yankees was the 2003 season when they lost in 7. Other than that those series have been pretty one sided. Even this year the Sox are far from a lock to get into the post season, and I think the Yankees will step up and beat them.
Next question.
What if baseball hadn't gone on strike in 1994. Would the Montreal Expos have won the World Series that year, and would it have created enough pressure to build a proper ball park and be enough to keep the team in Montreal?
