So because he was going to go on tour like a tribute to his old self, he was relevant? Sorry, but if he'd died in a car crash or something back in the late 80's, he'd be an icon and we'd wonder what he might have done if he hadn't died. Unfortunately for his legacy, instead of that we got to watch the reality of him turning into a caricature of a person who would do nothing important or interesting the rest of his life.
Just because he was going to go on tour doesn't mean jack. That's all about nostalgia, not art. Those people buying tickets might have paid to see Michael Jackson, but what they would have really seen was his feeble remnant, Michael Ghost-Face Plastic Surgery Disaster.
