Default Upcoming summer movie and Television thread

Been looking at some movies and TV shows that are coming up and have found a few that look really cool. If you see anything that looks sweet, post it here.

No, not all of these are coming out this summer. But they look sweet anyway.

Television:

Boardwalk Empire - written by Terence Winter (The Sopranos)
Starring: Steve Buscemi
The pilot episode is going to be directed by Martin Scorsese.
From IMDB: A look at the history of Atlantic City's boardwalk from its origins as a quiet seaside resort to the casino empire it is today. Based on the book "Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City" by Nelson Johnson.

Treme - written by David Simon (The Wire)
Starring: Wendell Pierce, Steve Zahn
Looks like it's going to be a drama about the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans.

Movies:

Shutter Island - Directed by Martin Scorsese
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer
From IMDB: It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He's been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
Release: October 2, 2009

Inception - Directed by Christopher Nolan
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Michael Caine
From IMDB: A CEO-type becomes involved in a blackmailing scandal.
Release: July 16, 2010
Note: This movie is currently being filmed at Fortress Mountain west of Calgary.

Avatar - Directed by James Cameron
Starring: Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez
From IMDB: In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
Release: December 18, 2009
Note: This is Cameron's first directing gig since Titanic, which became the highest grossing film of all time.

Alice in Wonderland - Directed by Tim Burton
Starring: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Michael Sheen, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee
From IMDB: The adventures of a young girl, Alice, who falls into a magical world full of strange characters and darkness behind every corner.
Release: March 5, 2010
Note: This movie will be in 3D! What's better than an acid trip and a Tim Burton movie in 3D? Not much.

Inglorious Basterds - Directed by Quentin Tarantino
Starring: Brad Pitt, Eli Roth
From IMDB: During World War II a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
