We search comparables in CGY and found the same house in Hidden Valley (our preferd cgy location) would have been 60-80k higher. Despite all the debbie downer's in this thread there is nothing wrong with Airdrie. It is just slightly cheaper for housing but then you have to drive to Calgary to enjoy the "big city" type things.
It is nice because there is never any traffic jams, at least not like Calgary.
It really is just convenience vs price. Even driving to the city 5 days a week will still be cheaper than a Calgary house but then again you have to drive to Calgary 5 days a week.
As for things like restaurants I have no idea it has been a while since I lived near there.
