Well a bottle of single malt (usually what people who go off about "the good stuff" are talking about) doesn't rally work well when you're out on the golf course.
When it comes to sitting around socializing, I'll say that beer and scotch are on par for a hanging with buddies drink, and it really comes down to choice. But when it comes to being out on the course on a hot day and wanting something refreshing Beer >>>> "the good stuff".
