I have a question for some dog owners out there. My puppy is ten weeks old and he is currently growing some serious fangs. We have lots of toys for him to chew and he gets a lot of exercise, but he still insists on chewing on me, whether it be hands, legs, pants. He also chews on my couch and table legs, even after I've sprayed it with a bitter spray. I've tried almost everything, like saying no, leaving him, making a loud noise with pennies. I know (hope) he'll grow out of it, but is there anything I can do right now? It hurts when he bites, his teeth are super sharp.
Roll up a magazine and smack the brat on the ass. Then the next time he does it, do the same thing. It shouldn't take more than a couple smacks before he learns that the mere motion of rolling up a magazine = trouble. The bonus is that all future transgressions can be handled by rolling up something. The dog will see you doing it and immediately know that whatever he's doing is bad.

I'm not kidding. I'm sure alot of people will contradict this post, but it really does work. You're the alpha. In dog packs, when a subordinate pisses off the alpha, he gets his ears chomped. You basically need to do the same thing, just a little more humane since puppies are so damn adorable.

FTR, don't use your hand to smack him. The rolled up magazine is like a mental barrier for the dog that he recognizes as the deliverer of pain, instead of you.
