Lilly is not "injured" as in gonna keep him out at least right now, but even discussed on Coffee Rowe this morning was the fact that he is not a 100% at all and has been fighting pain all year.

Flambers, I totally agree with you about the depth problem. They Jays core group if healthy is a very good one but your right depth is a problem. However for the injurys the Jays have had this year, they've still managed to work through it. However, with your if JP doesen't make a trade you'll be dissapointed, I don't think if you want to add depth like that trading is your best option. The Jays are gonna have to give something up to get something and really what do they have to offer, that could turn into them getting some better in return? As a small market team JP needs to think of the long term future of this club. There is a young nucleus around that this team can contend in years to come if kept around. The depth problem can be adressed through free agency this year, as the Jays now have extra money to spend. The trade market right now is not a big or pretty one right now.

As for the Jays being lucky to finsh .500? What was everyone expecting this team to do this year? Who actually gave the Jays a shot to make the playoffs this year or even contend! The Jays have had to face many injury problems this year, and have still battled through it. .500 and only 5 games back in the toughest divison in baseball arguably is not that bad at all.

The Jays have A LOT to build on with the current team, I don't know what you were expecting from this years team at all. I've been very impressed by the Jays so far, not to mentoin the seasons not even over and the Jays are only 4 1/2 back of the WC and 5 back of the divison. A winning streak can happen just like that and if the Jays can beat the Sox and NYY when they play them who knows?
