It was pretty funny at parts, but definitely not brilliant. It seemed like they were trying to go along with the same style as Judd Apatow or Kevin Smith but kind of missed the mark. It definitely wasn't very clever and most of the humour wasn't character based but seemed rather to be gag based (like Family Guy). The exception probably being Alan who was the best part of the movie. Ed Helms was pretty good too. I'd rank it behind Role Models and Observe and Report for comedies this year though. Like someone else mentioned, it was more on par with Starsky and Hutch.

Good, but overrated. 6/10
