It really seems like they are pushing the "we have more variety" aspect to the game. Time will tell though I suppose. I got really into the story of the first game though. So maybe that is why the number of cut scenes didn't totally annoy me.

It wasn't just the number of cut scenes - it was the fact you had to watch them over and over again if you failed a portion of the objective and had to start over. Man was that ever annoying.
