Default A cautionary note for new GMs re. UFAs

We've seen a number of deals get rejected involving pending UFAs.

If you're a new GM - please keep in mind what you are trading for when you are going out to get these guys.

You have to sign UFAs to 3 year deals that are 1 way - so you have to think about this season and beyond. Are you going to be stuck with a 4 million dollar player that you can't even play?

Moreover, last year there were a number of players in the low 70s that hit the UFA market - and there likely will be again this season...so you may be better served holding on to your assets and going for the UFA market.

A low veteran 70s (under 74) UFA player should cost you no more than a pick - and not a great pick - like a 3rd/4th, depending on their age. If you are giving up valuable picks/prospects to get guys like this - you are being taken.

The pending UFAs that hold value are the high 70s guys and above.

Just some free advice....our league's free agency rules are a little complex and the full impacts of a bad deal may not show themselves until a year from now - when you are totally fuggered.
