Figured I would reserrect this old thread with some questions regarding Steam.

How does Steam work.

Example, if Steam is down, can you not play your game?
If your internet connection is down, can you not play your game.
Do you own a license key for the game, or do you own a license to play it via steam, example does Steam give you a CD code?

I only ask because in the past the prices between the brick mortar stores and steam were enough to get me to go wtih Brick and Mortar. But the game I want now is not sold at amazon, so I would have to drive to Best Buy or Futureshop and the price is 60% more there than on steam.
