Take a look at what AT&T is charging for upgrades to the 3GS (for
existing customers):
Quote:
Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB). $700 freaking dollars for a 32GB 3GS iPhone for existing customers! Insanity! They don't even have tethering or MMS working yet!
I'm almost afraid to ask, but any word on what level of highway robbery Rogers is going to put out there? If they're in-line with AT&T, it could be upwards of $800 to get a new 32 GB iPhone, on top of the contract extension you'd be taking on. Brutal beyond belief.
