I remember reading somewhere that it's not that they're stupid or don't consider their actions.. they found that teenagers take longer to evaluate things than adults do (which makes sense given the lack of life experience), they simply evaluate things far differently than adults.

While adults might think in a theater about how disrupting someone wouldn't be nice, might disturb more people than the person they want to disturb, and how they want to be treated, a teenager would be more interested in how his peers view him. He can show his peers he's not afraid of challenging an adult's authority and get away with it, or whatever. The positive feedback from his peers is far more valuable than the risk or negative feedback from the adult.

Hopefully by the time they become adults they learn better, though I'm not so sure, while I don't see as much overt aggression like that from adults, passive aggression is in abundance.

I'm sure everyone can think of things that they did as a teen and look back and really question your own judgment.
