The person with the respiratory illness needs to speak to the neighbour and make them aware of the situation. They could even go so far as to let the neighbour know when they will be away from the home for an extended period and maybe the neighbour would take advantage and enjoy a nice back yard weiner roast or what ever.

Obviously, If that doesn't solve the problem, that's when you get bylaw services involved, Not before an attempt at a simple communication.








Last year my neighbours motion light was shining almost right into our eyes in the evening. I went and made him aware, within minutes he was up on a ladder and tilted the light down.


2 years ago I was draining my daughters little pool in the back yard, Someone across the lane saw water running down the alley and called 311. Just as I was finishing and rinseing it out with a hose, A full on Fire Engine with a full crew and the station cheif in an suv were banging at my gate. The person that called said i was dumping chemicals, the pool was filled directly from my hose bib and no chems were ever put into it. All this could have been avoided had this person just come over and let me know they were concerned and all would have been easily explained.


last weekend we had people over for a bbq, we had a radio on, although I didn't think it was too loud, around 10:00PM a new neighbour came to my back gate and told me his 10 month old daughter was having trouble sleeping and he thought it might be the music. I told him I'd turn it right down and to let me know if it continued to be a problem. All was resolved without the need for any assistance by the City. Amazing!

Keep the City out your business people! We are Not Infants. We Can take care of ourselves!
