With this new RFA grid I'll be interested to see how it affects goaltending. There are quite a few UFA guys like Ellis, Niitymaki, Garon, Conklin who'll be like 75-76 guys and really are backup goalies. Will teams lock them up to grid deals? Than you'll have some RFA guys who due to lack of games played will have similar type ratings like Hiller and Rinne who you no longer can sign for like 2 million a year you'll have to pay them like 4 and more if you want term. Seems like any starter who can stand on his feet for 10 minutes without falling over makes 8 million or more in this league so at what point do teams say...I can't commit 15 million to my goaltending?
