And this time we should do what we should have done last time. Wipe anyone the hell out if they step foot near a Canadian Soldier or borded guard with a weapon. Only in Canada can BS like this happen because of the fear of the natives' (or whatever group of people using such tactics) use of public relations.
Aside from being a slap in the face to all law-abiding Canadians, events such as Oka cost Canadians ridiculous amounts of tax dollars.
If you went up to an RCMP officer with a loaded weapon threatning violence, they would clearly take you out with the use of force. It should be no different for the Mohawks.
This isn't a race thing to me at all (I actually have quite a few native friends since I grew up next to a reservation). I'd say the same for any group threatening such an act. There's has to be laws in society, and everyone has to be held accountable or you end up with chaos (see OKA).
