Why is nobody talking about the American border guards being allowed to have guns on their border crossing, which is also on Mohawk land?

Bottom line is this is a political stunt because competent border guards with guns will make it more difficult for the band to keep up with their lucreative illegal activity. I don't know why no one in the media is mentioning the smuggling (Tobacco, drugs, weapons, etc) that takes place regularily through these border crossings.

This article explicitly mentions this reserve and has testimony from a smuggler who manned a boat on the river with a machine gun. This whole protest is a slap in the face to everyone's intelligence and has nothing to do with this 'well-meaning, peaceful' community not wanting guns on their territory.
