As noted, not at all likely to happen.
There are only three leagues anywhere close to Calgary:
The PCL, and our stadium is crap. Not even remotely possible until a new ballpark is built. There is also the problem of the PCL not wanting back into Canada, and certainly not back into Canada with a single team. The league whined enough as it was when it was just Edmonton in the league. So we'd have to go in as a pair, and the odds of buisness people in our two fine cities putting forward the cash for a new park in Calgary, and to buy two existing teams in the PCL are almost nil.
The Northwest League is A-Advanced. Not really any better than the GBL for overall calibre, but at least is kids on the way up. Spokane is the nearest market, and travel would be a complete pain. Honestly, Victoria would get an NWL team before Calgary on geography alone.
Finally, Pioneer league. We used to be a PL team, back when Medicine Hat (and for a time, Lethbridge) also had teams. It's basically high school ball. Well below the calibre of the Vipers. Not a likely candidate either.
Its indy ball or bust, really.
