Its sad that these old ball parks get the wrecking ball without saving any part of the structure. We can read stories about Ebbets Field or the Polo Grounds. Yet we can not see or touch any part of those legendary structures. As the article states, a part of League Field in Cleveland and Forbes Field in Pittsburgh were left standing. Why can't a piece of the most legendary ball park of them all be left standing?

Unfortunately I don't think this group has enough time to save Gate 2. I have read that they are already drilling holes in it to prepare it for demolition, which is probably a few months away.
