I think that it is unprofessional but I also don't think the woman should be judged by her appearance. If she is otherwise intelligent and has a good resume, references, education, qualifications, etc. then I think she should still be hired despite a questionable interview wardrobe. Wardrobe can always be addressed.

In our culture, people ARE judged by their appearance whether you want to accept it or not.
And lets not all pile on
flip here..................yeah he made a generalization but look around. I was at the mall the other day and I couldn't keep count of all the 12-16 year olds with their mini-skirts and cell phones walking around like they owned the place. Also, if you go for drinks at bars/pubs, one might conclude that their ARE alot of trampy women running around........
and MissKat you almost sound bitter that this woman got such a reaction from your boss........
