I ate it on occasion in Iceland, my sister and her family own horses and when they have to put one down (using seal clubbing method) they take the meat and freeze it so they have months of horse food.

Its good, just the fat can taste weird, even a bit nasty. So long as you cut away the fat its all good. Tastes like chicken.
