I used to have that same form of thinking on this issue.
Soldiers do have a choice and they can choose not to serve the peace of crap wars like the middle east. Therefore I do not have feelings for them. It is their choice. (We can get into debates about how they don't own themselves but but I do not want to derail the thread. I can get suckered in waaaaay to easy.

They have to build those hospitals because it would be in-humane to bomb and leave. They should rebuild what the coalition brought down.
Now do all that building in places that need it (Eg - Africa) just as much but don't currently have the means to pay back... (As in Agriculture or education not monetary payment) You get my SUPERHERO vote. Heck I'd enlist for that.
