How is it not true? You used your own mind to sort out your problems. I would call that a form of therapy.
I'm not saying meds are bad. I don't believe they need to be taken for life. They obviously helped you take the edge off your anxiety so you could deal with the underlying cause. Heck, i've used them in the past for similar circumstances.
