Many people hate and mistrust the police. The ones who usually are at fault are the media. The media arbitraily editorializes things of this nature without providing enough context for there to be a chance of objectivity. Then, you say: "how is that editorialized? the evidence is right there; he's suffering undue force after already being unconscious". Thus, I side with the cops on the humanity side of it, if indeed, their lives were threatened. He apparently is a murderer, so that doesn't make it more acceptable. It shows that humans consistently allow their emotions to get the best of them in power struggle scenarios like this one. Higher standards, higher schmanderds, cops are people who have personal lives full of problems and ego trips. Cops are a perfect example of "put your self in their shoes". The guy on the rampage who had his head booted is another case of endangering many, so why is turnabout not fairplay? I do things that the police may disagree with, but check municipal and civic constitution, you may break a few rules to now and then. But, in General, I don't mistrust all police, just the corrupt ones. And I've never done anything to warrant undue force, so I really can't say.

If it were a pedophile/rapist would that treatment be more acceptable?
