Well, as a huge fan of the franchise, I am quite happy with Terminator Salvation. Had everything I wanted. Solid action, great effects, an Arnie appearance, and didn't have the cheeseball one liners that ruined T3.
The character of Marcus Wright was awesome and was really done by Sam Worthington. Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reece was really good too. I thought Christian Bale and John Connor was so-so. There wasn't enough to his character for him to really sink his teeth into. I didn't think Bale needed to be great and he wasn't. He did howver bring some of his grisly Batman voice and that kind of irritated me. He did have a few strong scenes though.
In terms of storyline, I thought they got it bang on. They didn't screw with the integrity of the first two and really didn't have any reference to number three which is a good thing. I'm not gonna get into specifics about what I lied and didn't like because the movie hasn't come out yet........ I could have done without the cliche general of the resistance, played by the very cliche Michael Ironside.......he should have retired after Total Recall.
Overall, I liked it a lot. But I'm biased because of my love for the franchise, so it would have been really hard to disappoint me.
8/10.....Will see it again for sure.....screw the critics, this franchise has never been a story suited for critics, I remember mixed reviews for Terminator 2 when it came out.....so screw them all to hell.....goo see it yourself and you decide!!
Next up on the must see list: Transformers 2.
