I think the worst letter to the editor I ever saw was in the Calgary Sun about 10 years ago. The context was something to do with years having religious connotations because of the suffix AD.
A previous letter disregarded the AD and basically said who the hell cares how the years are named, religion is outdated anyway.
So this idiot replies with a very harsh tone "correcting" the other letter writer, insisting that years indeed have religious meaning because we live in (whatever year it was) AD - After Death! As in, after the death of our lord!!
Yeah.
Some people should be banned from pens and keyboards.
