I'll hold judgement, there are just a bunch of things that I don't know if I like the idea of

In white some spoilers

Seeing Kirk as an unruly teenager, then seeing him sitting in the Command Chair screaming, just doesn't seem like Kirk who to me was more of a level headed thinking in that chair.

Blowing up Vulcan? wtf? They're doing that to change the timeline in the story, but its vulcan, it means that several of the great episodes can't happen.

I hate the look of the new enterprise, the nacelles look like my sisters hairdryers, the all white hallways and engineering looks like a 18th century steamship.

Is Eric Bana's character another cookie cutter character with flawed reasons for his revenge ala dinklestein in the last TNG movie.

I've had such bad experiences with Trek movies where I'm going into this one with the expectation that its going to let me down and hoping for the best.

Trek Movies

Star Trek TMP - Too slow and sterile, but when it came out I was so starved for Star Trek that they could of put nacelles on a piece of dog poop and I would have loved it

Star Trek TWOK - Best movie of them all, incredibly well done and acted. Kirstie Alley was incredibly hot.

Star Trek TSFS - Christopher Lloyd devoured that movie. "You Klingon , you killed my son" one of the best lines in all of the movies.

Star Trek TVH - I really liked this one even though there was no enterprise. The acting was great, the humor was great, they allowed the actors to age.

Star Trek - TFF - Outright poo, they made fun of all the characters who weren't Kirk or Spock. Scotty taking pratfalls, Uhura constantly horny and doing the fat girl fan dance, Sulu weak minded.

Star Trek - TUC - I really liked a lot of this movie. It had a tight plotline, there was a lot of emotion, really well acted with Christopher Plumber eating up scenary as General Chang. A nice use of the cold war. And the final log of the Enterprise

[Kirk's final Captain's Log]
Captain James T. Kirk: Captain's Log, stardate 9529.1. This is the final cruise of the Starship Enterprise under my command. This ship and her history will shortly become the care of another crew. To them and their posterity will we commit our future. They will continue the voyages we have begun, and journey to all the undiscovered countries, boldly going where no man... where no *one* has gone before.

Star Trek Generations - Outright poo, all of the characters with the exception of Picard and Data were wallpaper. Kirk was uncharacteristic with the screw the universe part, and the whole Antonia thing in the middle. Just badly written Malcolm Macdowell who's an excellent character actor had nothing to work with.

Star Trek First contact - Pretty good movie, once again managed to flatten every character not named Data or Picard. Troi drunk, that chick can't act at the best of time and now you want her to play drunk. This movie though started the pussification of the Borg, now they would all die without the queen.

Star Trek Insurrection - Out right garbage, the villians might as well have come with curly ended mustaches and railroad tracks. Again the characters with the exception of Picard and Data were merely there as overglorified extras. The sing along scene made me outright cringe. Picard once again goes from being a ship captain to being John Mclain.

Star Trek Nemesis - Poo on a platter. A villian who doesn't make sense (The Romulans screwed me so I mean to avenge myself by destroying my twin and Eart) The deux ex Machina ultimate weapon starship that had a convienient self destruct device in the bridge (they might as well have saved some money on CGI by just putting a big red button by the door). The lamest character death ever when you knew he was going to be reborn in the lamest plot device ever. A dune buggy scene that made no sense. A lame ass wedding scene. The worst actor ever playing the villian and ripping off the Orc death scene from lord of the rings.

So forgive me for being a little gunshy over my 10 bucks.
