because...and i will reiterate it one more time...when he was asked in FEBRUARY to make a decision, at that time he felt like he could not commit to another season. Then the packers asked him to do a presser which out of loyalty to the orginization..he agreed to.

Then 5 full months later...he felt like he did want to play....and he could play...and i would suggest the Packers knew he could to but they wanted to move forward (Ted thompson and him alone IMO) because they offered him 25 million dollars NOT to play. So, and as is his right, he told them if you dont want me...release me or trade me.

Then this past season...he never formally retired yet again. He was interviewed in february (his last interview by the way...damn media whore ) if he had played his last game. he said and I quote "at this time, i feel like yes, i have played my last game". 2 things about that...1) "at this time"...again a full 7 months before the season was to begin and 2) he was injured and had never not been able to throw a football because of arm strength. this was a first for him. on top of that he never ever asked the Jets to either release him nor trade him. he left the door open to return all along. But when they drafted Sanchez they then gave him his outright release. 2 weeks ago. Brad childress takes notice of this.

Now fast forward to today. He is riding around his property hunting whatever he hunts and fishin whatever he fishes...he has been away from the game for 3 months and probably thinking about the game the whole time, and he gets a phone call from a guy that he is close to in childress. Childress wants to talk to him about several things concerning Favre not the least of which is to see how much interest favre has in returning to the game and his commitment to do so from the beginning of training camp and mini-camps thru the summer.

Thats where we are. Favre has done absolutely nothing wrong/immoral/deceitful at this point...nothing. Would it be a slap to the face of Packer fans...hell yeah it would as I can attest to. But that doesnt mean he isnt entitled. he wasnt exactly shown a whole lot of loyalty by the current regime in GB...so he owes them nothing in return.

Athletes say they are quitting all the time and come back. What makes this and the accompaning hate so much different?
